Caroline Mason is my favorite detective on my favorite show, called "The First 48" on A&E. Those of you who know me know that I am obsessed with crimes. Great or small, petty or felonious, I just love crimes. So it makes sense that all of my favorite shows revolve around murders, kidnappings, robberies, carjacking and the occasional shop-lifting experience.
So Caroline Mason is just my absolute favorite. There are many reasons for this. First, Caroline Mason often speaks in the third person. Just the other night, when she was sitting in the patrol car next to her partner, Tony Mullins (who is usually the Bad Cop), she said "Boy, you'd better quit that itching over there. Caroline Mason doesn't want no poison ivy." If my name was catchy enough to speak in the third person, I might consider it. But it really isn't, so I'll just leave that up to Caroline.
Another reason is that Caroline has a mini-poodle named Precious. I love the word "precious". I say it all the time.
Also, Caroline Mason has a very classy ward-robe, for a detective. She has a black blazer that she calls her "interview blazer"...magically, it ALWAYS gets the confession. Her favorite sweater is a white sweater with a fur collar. She also owns it in black. On anyone else, this sweater would look ridiculous. But not on Caroline Mason. She looks smokin'. Finally, Caroline Mason picks out handbags based on whether or not her handgun will fit in it. I'm not a gun fan. But if I were, I would certainly pick the same Dooney and Bourke purse that she counts amongst her most treasured and useful possessions.
Anyway. Thanks for joining me in a trip down Random Lane.
