The Civic Geek.

As mentioned in my previous posting, I love Election Day.  I love politics, I love playing my teensy, weensy, extremely insignificant (at least in Utah) part in shaping the progress of our country.

I take voting very seriously.  I make sure that I am informed about all of the issues on the ballot so that I can make an educated choice.  It's a very exciting day when that little booklet comes in the mail with information about all of the candidates, the ballot initiatives and the judges.  I take careful notes and do my research on all of the issues.

As you might imagine, I generally vote on a straight party ticket.  However, I never, ever just click the box that fills in the boxes for me.  I make a point of going through each and every candidate, telling myself that I am giving each person a fair chance at getting my vote.  Truth is...SHOCKER ALERT...I can't even fathom a day that I would check the "Republican" box.  I'm a Democrat.  I'm not independent.  I'm not a Constitutionalist or anything else.  I am a Democrat.  I don't even think I'd vote Republican if Jesus Himself ran on their ticket.

I know.  Sorry to alienate any of you, my precious readers.  I hope we can still be friends.
